Tice Allison (aka David Tice Allison) has studied with some of the best acting instructors in the business, chief among them Ed Hooks in San Francisco, who now teaches his noted scene study classes in Chicago. He has also studied with the Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studio in Los Angeles and with Barb Titus in San Jose.
THEATER
Mr. Allison’s resume comprises a couple known stage credits: Reckless (TheMainstreet Theater--ensemble roles--Sebastopol, CA ) and The Odd Couple (staged reading, playing Oscar Madison, Louis Street Theater) and while living in San Jose he performed regularly with Tangelo Productions, an intrepid theater group specializing in the staging of works by local playwrights. Tice participated in the 6th Street Playhouse (Santa Rosa, CA) production of "The Grapes of Wrath" in 2007, playing the role of Connie Rivers.
Tice considers himself a character actor, with a fondness for playing characters that exist on the periphery of society. In October of 2005, Tice was cast in a small, but juicy role as a low-life booking agent named Tony Serpa in the HD feature “Spirits of the Road.” (www.spiritsoftheroad.com)
Directors Jeff Piccinnini and James M. Mallon gave Tice carte blanche to develop his own character quirks for the role (including the agent’s last name), and to improv much of the dialog. The resultant character is something for which Tice is continually gaining praise and attention, though it is a character which Mr. Allison finds a little unnerving.
“It’s scary realize that I have a facility for ‘channeling’ weirdos and sociopaths.”
In 2008 Tice Allison collaborated once again with Piccinini and Mallon to produce a 4-minute HD video short film called "Milton Hines." Written by Tice, and marking his film directoral debut, it also stars him as the singular main character, an eccentric celebrity artist who hears strange noises coming from his bedroom. Slated for wide internet distribution and film festival submission, "Milton HInes" was produced in concert with Mr. Allison's production company, Recording Eye Films and Purple Motion Pictures.
