Advanced Restoration

Scroll down to view Before and After samples of photographs which fall under the "advanced restoration" category and possibly match your own restoration needs. Most custom colorization projects fall under this category, as well as extremely faded, damaged or torn photos, and some special effects.
Commentary: For extremely yellowed photographs, and thanks to the wonders of digital imaging, some pretty impressive results can be had from what you might have been tempted to write off as "a lost cause."

Commentary: The Polaroid Land Camera came out in the early 60's and at first the only film available was black and white. And you had to manually apply a gooey fixer to the photo within minutes of it being exposed to the light, in order to seal in the image. It was difficult to tell if you were applying the fixer evenly enough, and only after it dried and was too late to do anything about it, would you see the tell-tale signs of where you screwed up. It takes a bit of work, but we can restore some of these "Polaroid Hell" shots to what they should have been.
Commentary: Back in the day before color film was readily available to the general public, color was added to black and white photos the old fashioned way: with paint brushes and water colors. We like to find the perfect balance between bringing out hidden details and honoring the original restoration work done by retouch artists of a long-gone era.
